|aA nineteenth-century adventure yarn, loosely derived from a poem by Lord Byron, Le Corsaire tells of harems, abductions, pirates, pashas, slave girls, treachery, true love and shipwreck. But the story is less important in this work than the choreography, which calls for wild bravura dancing, with pride of place belonging to the classical set prices. It is a perfect vehicle for world-renowned virtuosity of the American Ballet Theatre.
