|aSleeping beauty is Swedish choreographer Mats Ek's latest re-working of one of the classics of the ballet repertoire. The basic elements of the story remain true, but Ek transforms the characters into denizens of the second half of the twentieth century. A rebellious teenager, Aurora seeks to free herself from her uncomprehending parents and a world of emptiness and surface glitter.
